How it Works
Neural Stem Cell therapy would include both Stem Cells and an Rho GTPase into a damaged area where the Neural Stem Cells will differentiate. Due to a few environmental factors, including polarity and Thrithorax group proteins which aid in gene expression by identifying which exons of the gene will be expressed. The schematic shown below depicts an example of how Stem cells grow and divide. If in an environment where stem cells will differentiate into Neurons, we need to block out RhoA, which inhibits the growth of axons. Certain Rho Gtpases (some found in Ibuprofen) have been proven to inhibit RhoA and therefore will promote nerve regeneration.
